That's a shame. I'd have hoped that with booming cash flow they would make it into a really good place. It could be one of the world's great cities. <Bangalore is uglier now than 10 years ago. Larger with more traffic and pollution >

When the ice age returns, it'll be nice to live there. It would take a super-monster tsunami to get it. It's central to the world's population. Aircraft don't have to descend so far to land and when they take off, they are already enjoying good altitude [though the hot air and high altitude would limit take-off weight].

It has British-based culture [language, law, science] with a billion people in the country to support it.
