That's a really cool book. Here's one by a young fellow who spent an entire winter alone on the Upper Selway River in Idaho, in a place that I spent part of a summer. I found it on the link you posted. This young fellow got a job keeping the ice off a fish hatchery that the Fish and Game had back there. It's pretty remote, but there's a road to it. He does a good job of making it interesting, but it was VERY interesting to me because I knew the place. I have a signed copy. amazon.com
