I personally had no problem with Jeb Bush's efforts to support the parents, wasnt gonna hurt US taxpayer and IF the opposition was correct wasnt gonna hurt Terri and if the opposition was INCORRECT would certainly have been in Terri's best interest. But, I sure am not gonna base my vote on the decision EITHER WAY. jdn" _______________________ Wrong issue, JDN. My opposition is to making this whole Terry Schaivo matter a FEDERAL matter at all! What are congress and the President doing interfering in a matter governed by the State of Florida, where the State Courts of Florida had already heard the matter THREE times (including plenty of expert testimony) and ruled on the issue, granting the husband (the closes legal relative and the person under our system who has preeminent rights) to decide her fate. The rule of law had been followed within the court system that had jurisdiction...period. End of story. Or are you saying that the Federal Government should decide to interfere in anything they decide they have an interest in? Pass Special Legislation whereever they want and on whatever they want on INDIVIDUAL cases, not cases of wide import? Do you really want Senators who used to be doctors making diagnosis off of videotape, and thereby claiming better knowledge that medical experts who testified at the State Court trials? And, gee, the autoposy showed that all the expert medical testimony heard at State Court level was absolutely right. I don't want a bigger intrusive Federal Government. Do You...on things like this?
