Raising taxes on everyone making $100K or more by 12.5% to pay for the mother of all social "safety nets" is a liberal wet dream. I wouldn't mind "flattening" the FICA tax by removing the cap and lowering the rate at the same time, but the net effect is still a tax cut for anyone below the $100K threshold and a tax hike for anyone above it. The real flat tax solution should be across the board, not just FICA. Tenchusatsu
