Re: "without a state law to support it" Wouldn't that have then been a matter for an appeal to the highest Court in Florida, since it is a STATE law, not a federal one at question? Not a call for bloviating and 'diagnosing' from the floor of Congress? (Which appeal was, I understand, tried... but the Florida Supreme Court would not over-turn the earlier ruling.) (Believe the major decline of the GOP's popularity in the national polls began right with this incident of Big Brother over-reach....)
