I like a lot of what he has to say about keeping govt out of our business, but he has made it clear that he would be the weakest candidate when it comes to protecting our nation. I might be wrong, but he comes off as being very anti-military, and that is not good imo.

At one point last night he was whining about money going towards issues other than failing bridges, and in the same breath said to keep govt out of it.

He seems confused to me.

If we have another Pearl Harbor, or another 9-11, exactly what would Ron Paul do about it? I have not a single confidence in him that he would do much of anything about it.

Here's what turns me off about Paul. He kept the door open to being Kucinich's veep:

Paul calls Kucinich veep speculation "premature"

Posted by Sabrina Eaton November 29, 2007 05:59AM

After last night's GOP presidential debate, a Dennis Kucinich fan named Davis Fleetwood queried Texas Rep. Ron Paul about Kucinich's recent suggestion in New Hampshire that they run as a joint ticket. Paul called such talk "premature" and added "We're just getting going."

Me, but he has the potential to split the party, a la Perot, in the face of the Hillary Beast, which scares the hell out of all thinking people.

Libertarianism is gonna grow and reshape the party or split it. People like me are sick of big biz dominance. Also, the younger generation really wants the govt. out of the bedroom. So you have forces weakening both the big biz, big money and Evangelical influence within the party.

This is long term and I don't plan on being around to see it, but you can feel the forces gathering.

The liberal Demos are just brain dead reactionaries

what percentage here are not frightened of RP, or at least utterly turned off by his message?

IMO most aren't scared of his domestic agenda. It's his stance on foreign policy that scares the bejesus out of people.

I am neither frightened of Ron Paul, nor turned off by his message. I simply pay no attention whatsoever to him since he is a no-hope loser who isn't worth the time.

Having said that, now if some of his ideas were moderated a little, cleaned up around the edges, and presented in a thoughtful serious way as an approach to some serious problems......

Utterly turned off. Yes, I know a person can find something about his numerous positions to like. But viewed in totality .... he's a kook. Way too many ideas which just wouldn't work in the real world. Like the idea of disengaging from the world and relying on letters of marque and reprisal to unleash privateers on our enemies treasure ships.
