Excellent point. A FED cut is not a guarantee for happiness. Nor is it an effective put. It seems to me that at best it merely delays the inevitable... THE MARKET CRASHED REAL HARD IN OCTOBER '02 .

The more I look at the FED, the more I think the heroin analogy is appropriate. You always need a little bigger hit to get the same high, and it wears of more quickly. All the time the user gets more strung out and closer to death.
