I also read Boys Life, Outdoor Life and all the Classic's Illustrated comic books (remember those)...

I do indeed remember those magazines and had subscriptions to Boy's Life and Outdoor Life. Boy's Life had a feature I liked called UU, for the advice mule. One issue showed you how to carve a little wooden model of UU. I did that quite successfully, and I'm looking at it now over fifty years later.

Illustrated Classics: You know, it's a shame we don't have those any more. How superior they were to the pap kids have to read today.

I remember Moby Dick and Tale of Two Cities. I'm not sure I read any other Illustrated Classics.

My first magazine subscription was to the Saturday Evening Post. I can't remember how old I was, but less than ten. My grandma got it for me and I read every issue cover to cover. That was back in the days when Norman Rockwell painted the covers.
