There are about 13 states in total that are making alot of progress on going green. Some of those are on the East Coast too. I think the central states are the ones who are least interested in going green or if they are, it's all about ethanol and farm subsidies for the giant corporate farmers, which in my book is a dead end and a waste of money.

But I am happy that this election could bring a sea change in thinking and action on global warming and energy independence. Right now, I'm watching Huckabee and Richardson. I hope one of them wins, but am not holding my breath. I am particularly pleased that Mitt Romney is getting dragged through the mud. He's my least favorite candidate. Guliani would be very effective, especially on reigning in gov't spending and fixing the budget, but he's not so good at energy independence.

I'm still having serious doubts about Hillary, though. I just don't think she would make energy independence our top priority. I think she looks way too much like the Bush admin when it comes to Iraq and she touts Health Care as her favorite subject. That tells me she will be too distracted to focus on my number one issue of energy independence.

Anyway, so I'm a little dismayed at the fact that the front-runners are not my favorites right now. But maybe things will change. Maybe Romney and Hillary will lose Iowa and not get nominated. But I'm not holding my breath on either account. At the end of the day, the ones with the most money get nominated. Hillary and Romney have the most money. Ergo nominations are coming there way.
