If rightwingers are smart, they will take this opportunity to hoot and hollar. Iraq is relatively secure. We can legitimately say we are leaving now because with this trend we have succeeded in the mission and troop levels will naturally begin to decline according to that trend, if it continues. Compared with the US, Iraq looks like the Garden of Eden.

In Iraq at least 34 American service members died in October, nearly a third from non-combat causes.

In the USA the annual tally of crime don't look so hot.
