Great servive indeed-- Apple recently replaced a broken HD for me gratis after the warranty ran out. Applecare seems like a waste of money :).

You're lucky to live near an Apple store since in person they seem very helpful, Apple reps by telephone gave my friend the cold shoulder when his iBook died after 2 years. Sad story, but he shrugged it off and shelled out for a new MacBook and it was almost the center of attention last night at the coffee club place that has free Wi-Fi. Almost, because someone at another table had a shiny new iPod Touch and it stole the show. Downloading his own YouTube videos to show friends.
