Hi KyrosL, It's a little vague and complicated. If you own your home in Canada the tax people may decide you are still basically a Canadian resident and therefore may be taxed. If you are still getting a salary from a Canadian source you will be taxed. The matter is clearest if you write them a letter and get them to acknowledge that you don't anymore own a home in Canada and will not be residing in Canada during the tax year and earnings will be from non-Canadian sources. You're entitled to live abroad basically forever and not pay Canadian taxes on your earnings abroad but you can still renew your Canadian passport.
SOT.
