Re: Vidocq Society

Case Intake

A Vidocq Society investigation can begin only after we are contacted by a family member or law enforcement agency asking us to review an unsolved cold case. A family member making a request must have standing in the case. In all cases the investigating law enforcement agency must welcome our help.

Back in 2000 we suggested, via the Yale Daily News, that the police and/or the Jovin family might wish to look into this alternative. Obviously they chose to not go this route. Perhaps they will change their mind but I don't know how to coax them into it.

We thought about seeing if the Vidocq Society would bend the rules for us, but with no support from the NH police, even if they wanted to take the case it seems like it would not make any sense.
