You would rather have the dollar be God?

That's a bogus dichotomy. Dollars don't make decisions. People make decisions. Dollars inform, and often constrain, those decisions. I'd rather the affected actors make the decisions. Giving up our choices as a trade-off against the effect of the dollar is, IMO, a bad choice although an understandable one. Claiming that dollars make decisions, though, is bogus.

Many People are dead including Walter Peyton and Mickey Mantel. Walter made a moral choice at the end. For this I respect him.

"I favor keeping government out of the role of God."

The government should not have the power to determine my end of life by denying me coverage. Socialized medicine will endow government with that power over you.
