"Only he didn't call it "slashing" - he called it a "Peace Dividend"." Forgot about that. So, I guess in the 'winger dictionary, if the military is cut under a Republican, it is a "Peace Dividend". If under a Democrat, then it is "slashing the military and putting the country at risk"... It is pretty hard to follow the 'winger's Newspeak. Interestingly enough, when you actually look at what happened, you find that under Clinton, we actually spent about what Bush 1 had projected earlier. csbaonline.org So we could have had more "Peace Dividend" and less slashing if Bush I had been re-elected...
