Obama is an empty suit. No self respecting Republican would vote for him. He is TOTALLY unqualified.

Sometimes I think that perhaps the only thing holding the GOP together right now is Hilary Clinton.

They are *so intently focused* on her, they practically define themselves by their opposition to her, that without Hilary to run against they would be lost in a political wilderness.

Peggy Noonan seems to see that when she calls Obama "a Democrat who could cure the Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton sickness."

(I believe that the Dems are now at an inflection point --- they, like the GOP, are actively looking for the 'winning ticket', the 'guaranteed winner'... but they are still harboring in the backs of their minds a memory of what happened the LAST time they bought into an 'inevitability' argument and went with what on the surface was presented as a 'safe choice'... and they wound up with Kerrey and a loss. Sometimes the supposedly 'safe' choice turns out to not have that much upside after all --- when what the public is truly hungering for is not the pre-digested pablum and conventional wisdom of Washington... but a more daring and authentic choice.)

Playing it 'safe' is not necessarily the safest choice. :-)
