Obama is an empty suit. No self respecting Republican would vote for him. He is TOTALLY unqualified.

Sometimes I think that perhaps the only thing holding the GOP together right now is Hilary Clinton. They are so intently focused on her, they practically define themselves by their opposition to her, that without Hilary to run against they would be lost in a political wilderness. Peggy Noonan seems to see that when she calls Obama "a Democrat who could cure the Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton sickness." (I believe that the Dems are now at an inflection point --- they, like the GOP, are actively looking for the 'winning ticket', the 'guaranteed winner'... but they are still harboring in the backs of their minds a memory of what happened the LAST time they bought into an 'inevitability' argument and went with what on the surface was presented as a 'safe choice'... and they wound up with Kerrey and a loss. Sometimes the supposedly 'safe' choice turns out to not have that much upside after all --- when what the public is truly hungering for is not the pre-digested pablum and conventional wisdom of Washington... but a more daring and authentic choice.) Playing it 'safe' is not necessarily the safest choice. :-)
