AMD may launch a 2.5GHz eventually - probably before Intel launches Nehalem - but I'm pretty sure it won't be enough to regain leadership. Harpertown is already faster than AMD's vapor parts in most server benchmarks, though it's hardly worth bragging about when AMD doesn't even have a shippable competitive part. The only thing left for sale are 90nm dual core Opterons - and one has to wonder what ASP AMD is getting for them these days....
