Why defend Chavez from the allegedly undeserved bad press he has been getting?

Consequently, our enemies are figments from the imaginations of our leaders. Bush doesn't like Chavez because he's a leftie. So word goes out to the American media to present Chavez in the worst possible light. Carter tells us the Chavez elections were fair but the media reports exactly the opposite.

The idea that Bush commands the American media is pretty absurd too.
