Environmentalists don't like hydro-electric dams because they harness wild rivers. Wind farms because they kill birds and bats. Nuclear power because the waste is poisonous. Burning coal, gas, or oil puts CO2 in the air. Ditto burning wood.

Its easy to predict tidal power will be called a threat to marine life, wetlands. If solar power is to be big, it will involve large farms which will shade and disturb nature for many square miles in a place - I can imagine lawsuits over endangered lizard & etc. species.

If humans moved wholesale back into caves, that w/b condemned for endangering bat habitats.
