"...much to do with a fp discussion thread."

Policy begins with a concept that can be defined in terms of a clear idea about our circumstance. Policy ideas may either be founded upon principle, strategy or a combination of both. A policy must be geared toward resolution or management of an issue that concerns all of those impacted by the policy. Our foreign affairs are reflective of policy, either by standing as hypocritical contradictions of what we say we stand for or by standing in support of policy.

The umbrella term for policies fueling the machinations of this administration is WOT.

When we allow contagion of issues that are not primary to these policies we risk chaos and ineptitude. Personal bias, prejudice, fringe issues, anomalous events, sensational stories, cultural or personal comparison, truths which lie outside of the target issue infect processes, confuse the course, and influence our ability to conduct ourselves according to policy in an effective manner.

So, when the issue is radical extremism in the world, as it relates to FP, the discussions ruff and I have had are informative. His part is to show how we can become overwhelmed with every incidental annoyance related to other cultures, mine is to show how that approach guarantees our failure to implement effective policy. You see, its perfectly balanced in a perfect world, as always.... <g>
