About two weeks ago, by chance, I met an individual who was very senior in an environmental pressure group. Lots of paying and contributing supporters all over the world. I happened to be there as an assistant on a private business deal.

I listened to the chat on saving the planet. What became obvious to me was that this individual and group did not have a clue on what they were doing, and had no idea on how to protect the environment. He was very strong on earning a good living and stressed on how much could be made on the lecture circuit telling people what to do to save the planet and to give generously. If wasn't already mentally prepared to be disappointed with what I heard and saw I would have maybe started arguing with him. Fortunately I could already see it was a waste of time.

What was disappointing was the supporters of the group seem to act like dumb sheep. Give thier money and expect to see the world fixed the next time they see the news on TV.

Money does have an immensely strong attraction for every shyster out there. Environmental groups must as thick with shysters as any political party out there.

Unfortunately.

Makes it difficult to actually fix anything.
