That is a broken analogy. A better analogy to the benefits
of MOS process scaling is a $5000 car that gets 200 mpg.
And two years from now a $3000 car that gets 500 mpg.

No offense, but you're out of touch with the PC business. Demanding more performance isn't like adding axles to a car. It's about enabling developers to make new apps that make your life easier. It's also about putting more performance in smaller thermal envelopes, so that you can take your computer with you wherever you are. You can thank Moore's Law for the fact that cell phones exist, and that they can actually do more than just making phone calls. You may not need anything more than an old analog telephone to provide all your communications needs, but that doesn't mean that everyone else is like you.
