I recommended your post for you, and I'll just say the questions you raise are silly in light of your credentials.

I went to the last persons source "britannica" and opened a 1976 junior edition pg 4863 i quote
"Petroleum is natural oil which is removed from the ground. it is formed from plant and animal materials buried in the sedimentary rocks of the earths crust. It is a mixture of many substances which are separated from the crude oil by simple distillation"

Now; its fall here the leaves are falling, so you doubting types should go to your yard and collect as many leaves as your energy allows, mix in some canned tuna, some table waste and what ever other plant debris you have in your yard. Step 2 bury it as deep as you can, cover it with rocks and wait.

Next year we'll ask all to dig up their wells and see what we've got.

As you report on your own oil strike let us know.

once that data is in,

Then we will open the questions saltand peepper raises. but in the meantime the HC chain is fully articulated in the article previously provided.

no oil at the crater source? imagine that. could be some missing information in your educational preparation, and perhaps its why the britannica in 1976 distilled your spun understanding to the level of evidence it presents above.

Just to clarify your terminology, while many believe comets (being composed of ice, methane and rocks) brought a great deal of water to Earth, meteorites did not (being composed of iron or other minerals).

That meteorites brought H20 to Earth is not in dispute.
