Off topic, forgive me this transgression:

>>I doubt I'll get down there for a game, especially hoops; not my favorite.>>

Hoops are a "safe-and-effective" :-) medication for SAD. The lights are blazing, the music is blustering from 50 Cent to AC/DC, to the Straw-Hat Band at Cal, the buzz and DBs of the crowd are reminiscent of a 1971 rock concert at Winterland. The cheerleaders ("Spirit Teams") are eternally young and rambunctious while we conflicted aging pro-feminists don't know whether to applaud or cover our eyes or write a 600 page textbook analyzing the oppression and exploitation. (I now applaud the amazing effort and routines, and yes, they dance for women's games too.) Try basketball again some cold dark winter night, the WCC, Pac 10. . . whatever university is near you.

Down here by the now 80% oil globule free bay (hey, that's on-topic!), Cal just won the 2007 NCAA Water Polo Championship. Women's basketball is rocking and rolling with Ashley Walker and cast, and the men's hoop team is opening eyes with the possibility of three Bay Area teams ranked, St. Marys, Cal and Stanford.
