For the first time since the days of the Celeron 566 I bought an Intel CPU just three days ago. It was a 2.2GHz C2D E4500 for $125. I'd have to pay almost 30% more for an AMD CPU (a 3GHz X2 6000+) that is only 10% faster than the C2D. I hardly think a 45nm cpu with beefy dual cores would qualify as pushing the luddite agenda Intel will be saturating that market with Wolfdale a year before AMD launches their 45-nm "beefy" dual cores.

I assume you are managing fine with your AMD 586 processor in today's world.
