My disagreement is when he says church and state must be separate but the public realm has to give a presence for God and religion.

Those of us who aren't religious have that religion shoved at us in the public square as a result, in the same government fora that are bound NOT to promote religion.

It's not a sentiment that stands up to any scrutiny.
