One of the odd things do is underestimate their enemies intelligence and over estimate their strength. The mind that came up with hitting the twin towers with airplanes is certainly capable with a little thought of coming up with my idea. Our problem is that we have too many simple minds doing to many simple things and not thinking of the bigger picture. I live near Niagara Falls, Just driving around I can see that we are totally unprepared for an attack. Think about the problem if the Welland Canal stopped operating for a year. It could be closed easily, but no one looks at it. Look at where you live, from the eyes of a terrorist. The problem is that the Liberal media focusses on searches in airports and big ticket items. But in Iraq and other places they use trucks full of explosives. Several times they have tried to get truck loads of explosives, at least once in Britain and here in Canada. But we seem to lack the intellect to look at other ways to do it. Since I am not about to blow anything up, but I kind of understand the dynamics, I look at what is viable. We built a lot of stuff like the bridge that collapsed in Minnesota, How many of those structures are now at risk from terrorists? How do we prevent it? First we have to identify the targets, then we have to figure out how to protect them....... Leaving our electrical distribution networks to get old and fragile is not one of those steps. Perhaps by replacing and where possible burying the lines, perhaps by adding some redundancy to the system. Perhaps by adding solar systems to street lights so that they are take off the grid thus reducing the load on the system, or switching street lights of solar LED's..... Perhaps by finding the most vulnerable places and replicating their systems so that they could be replaced easily and quickly........ Any threat can be neutralized if you take the time to figure out your weak points. First you have to accept that you will be attacked. As for destroying them, stop using so much oil. If you cut petroleum use by 50% you cut the price of oil to nothing.......
