"If he can throw 10 or 20 million votes to some other candidate, he can have a major influence."

That's why the dems are supporting him and throwing money at him, they want him to run 3rd party and none of them will vote for them

Re: "I see Paul's campaign as infusing some ideas and a philosophy into the race, similar to what Steve Forbes did with his flat-tax proposal."

I agree.

"... I don't think he has the proverbial snowball's chance of winning, but I hope he can exert some influence on the big-gov't statists whom we are presented with every four years."

Someone has to come first and break the ice. It's possible he may open the way for Libertarians in future elections cycles.

At the very least, he gets the Libertarian position out there in the public commons for active consideration.

(After all: we have been afflicted with the Big Government Republi-crats for far too long now....)

If he can throw those votes to another candidate-------it assures that he has a place at the table in the next administration if it is a Republican one, and he should demand one.

I supported Steve Forbes because I liked his flat tax and his business approach----also add in Jack Kemp.

Ron Paul has some of the same ideas------the one that I and many people think is important is preservation of this country. That means a strong defense.

That is the number one issue----------then the other things come along-----immigration ----stop all immigration until the immigration system and laws are reviewed, enforced and changed as needed---------school vouchers, sure but not the no.1 issue.
