I don't believe you leave your life in the hands of people using "natural selection" to handle your purchases, design your brakes, bridges, and medical problems.

As a field, medical solutions rely extensively on natural selection. How do you think drugs are developed?

It took natural selection closer to 4 billion years to arrive at us. The real point is that natural selection continues to operate whether we make plans and processes or not. All of our houses and cyberphones and DNA research have occurred in a tiny blip of time. We won't know if this is the path to paradise or a headlong rush over the cliff until after the long term survival results are in. It's a process we can't choose to avoid.
