Was at the Subaru dealership today picking up a Tribeca (very impressed with it so far!) and decided to go ahead and put a deposit down on an 08 STi. I really don't care for the looks of the thing as it's got nowhere near the visual attitude of the previous generation, but darnit, it looks on paper like it might be as much as a second faster than my 07 on the road course. We'll soon find out. Expecting the car to arrive mid-month. Ordered a gray one with no options except the short-throw shifter. Will probably keep the 07, though. As the last of the "good-looking" STi's, I think it might actually go up in value. Especially since the miles won't get very high.
