Fox News reports that Edwards and Obama both surging in Iowa. Major Garrett just reported that Edwards, under the radar, has a shot at stealing the thunder in Iowa, while Obama is getting all the media attention and Hillary is losing her sense of inevitability.

Similarly, Rudy and Romney have sunk like stones. Rudy may not even be ahead nationally anymore, Huckabee surging across the board while McCain stays right where he is.

2008 will be a very poor year for rightwingers. Only in deeply red districts and states will they win. Rural southern whites and those in Utah and Idaho may be some of the last people to keep swilling the Bushie rightwing koolaid, even as Bushie corporate interests and robber barons screw them out of house and home. But as Karl Rove knows, to some idiots, loving war and white supremacy, and hating gays, peace and minorities are more important than any real issues like the Bush recession, health care, education, the environment or getting off Arab oil.
