Intel wanted to be a maker of Graphics chip.

They've started on the low end first and are now the largest maker of Graphic Chips.

They are by no means the high end,but much like Microsoft - they offer their version at a very competitive price and gain market share.

This is why AMD bought AYTY.

Just to keep up and integrate their graphics AMD was forced to pay 4.5 billion.

Intel is awesome - I don't think they must steal anything - they can buy it - but more often than not can just create and advance chip design.

My long term belief is they will package fast graphics (highest end like what Nvidia makes and coordinate it functioning with WIFI and noone will be competitive.

These are long term time limnes that continually assures them that tey make an expanding portion of a PC in what ever configuration exolves.

AAPL embracing of their technology is a classic example.

They copied nothing - they just built a better mouse trap at a better price and AAPL has gained market share.

This if duplicated with others could well give themm lerger market share in almost all chips.

IMHO

These guys are just good and very efficient - the highest complement that can be made in the electronics IDM world.

It is based on their continued integration of graphics into the CPU. AMD has announced they will have an integrated product - I forget the date for that. I expect at some point they will figure out how to integrate memory as well. Wi-max?

It is the way I would expect the processor business to evolve regardless of who is doing it. It is a great way to add value to the product.
