He needs it. He's playing with kids 1 & 2 years older. He did this in football until this year and it was really good for him. By the time he got to play in his age range he really did well. Its always been his size. He'll be 9 in 13 days (our Christmas Baby - hence his name) and he's 4'9. I have nothing to compare it to other than his classmates so I think thats pretty tall for 3rd grade. Yesterday the coach told him to do a pick play and Junior threw a block LOL!! I'm just the assistant so when the kids came to the sidelines I said Junior - he said a pick not a stick LOL!! I gotta say....organized hoops at this age is VERY UGLY!
