I can't tell you the chemical names for DMSO, and didn't want to mess with Google to find out. It's sold as a solvent. What I buy is 70% DMSO and 30% Aloe Vera. Veterinarians have used it for years on aching muscles for horses and other live stock. It seems to penetrate the skin effectively and ease joint pain. I get mine at the health food store where they keep it under the counter at the check stand. You have to ask for it. The bottle clearly states it is not for human use but it's up to the user as to what you decide to do with it. A roll on bottle, just like DO. It will cause the skin to redden and feel hot, but if you rub it in pretty thoroughly this seems to lessen the redness and burn sensation. Mind you, I'm not recommending this stuff. User discretion is advised.

Rambi, in addition to Ken's recommendations, I have had success with hyaluronic acid, which lubricates joints. I take than as well as glucosamine chondroitin with magnesium.

Today I went to the vet for my aging dog, who moves slowly. He game me a supplement containing the glu/chon stuff as well as avocado! He said studies have shown avocados help humans too.

So now I guess I will go buy some avocados.

Everything on your skin will be quickly dragged directly through your skin into your bloodstream with DMSO...............it's dangerous.

We use it in labs for a few things but it's handled very carefully and extreme caution is used when handling it.
