Bring it on, and soon, please. This rally is pushing farther than I thought it would. It still looks corrective in many financials, but the runs in some of the trucking stocks are testing my patience. Why in the hell this stuff is getting bought is beyond me. Perhaps the "Fed is going to save us" crap. And I still have to be worried that the Fed dishes up a zinger like a 50bp cut, despite inflation rocketing and a currency disaster.

I seriously considered getting hedged for December and January, but we really are just one or two announcements from a severe mark to reality. Countrywide will be insolvent within the year unless they can line up a ton of financing, and even Fannie and Freddie are against regulatory limits. I can't imagine how we avoid recession here - we are going to get our medicine, like it or not - and I seriously doubt that can happen without a true bear market in stocks.

I just don't have the mentality to jump in and out of positions, but these short covering rallies certainly test this bear's patience, and have me questioning my underlying assumptions.

Newfound wealth is often squandered. It's a safe bet that there's lots of the Asian and Middle East variety chasing this market.
Because very loud man with cowbell on TV says we should.
