Yes, and I've been watching some telecom companies for a potential
investment. Those that are using dial-up (AOL?)
will be dead unless they change. On the other hand,
fiberoptics companies will pave the way into the future
(baby bells? Verizon?) Verizon is not too bad valuation-wise,
compared to other DOW components, but the whole DOW is still
pretty bad -g-

I believe US manufacturing sector has experienced a full-scale
depression in the last 2 decades or longer. A dramatic
manufacturing growth will also be necessary to get us out of
perpetual current account deficit situation. However, this
does require a policy shift, something I am not seeing at all.
What I am seeing is more of the same - lies about inflation,
bailouts, etc. This benefits financial sector and continues
the destruction of the real economy. Unfortunately, a currency
crisis could be the necessary condition for the policy
shift in the US, and I will keep defensive investments for now.
