I think Puplava's argument is that eventually (perhaps after a painful Q1 2008 ?) the ECB will co-operate with the US, because they will find themselves in trouble sooner or later.

Of course, it is only academic as to whether the dollar is better than the Euro or vice versa. Not when there is real money around in the form of gold and silver!

Well, I think today's announcement is a big step towards the central banks' cooperation that Jim Puplava was talking about :
