Are you suggesting our immigration policies don't work? I think we need to be sensitive to the needs of the father in this case and his culture which allows him to kill female members of his family at will that might shame him. We Canadians pride ourselves in our multicultural sensitivity and don't all wear lumber jack shirts and cowboy hats. Shame on you for suggesting otherwise. Aqsa Parvez, 16, was found without a pulse in her home in the Toronto suburb of Mississauga earlier on Monday. She was resuscitated by paramedics, treated at two hospitals, and later succumbed to her injuries, police said on Tuesday. Her father, 57-year-old Muhammad Parvez, has been charged with murder and was remanded back into custody after his first court appearance early on Tuesday. "There was a 911 call placed by a man who indicated that he had just killed his daughter," Jodi Dawson, a constable with Peel Regional Police, told Reuters. "Everything else is evidentiary in nature and the investigation is in its preliminary stages at this point." The victim's brother, Waqas Parvez, 26, was arrested and charged with obstructing police. The story was on the front pages of Canadian newspapers on Tuesday. The newspapers quoted friends and schoolmates of the victim as saying she argued with her father over wearing a hijab, the traditional head scarf worn by Muslim females. Photos of the teen retrieved from a social networking Web site show her in Western dress with her long dark hair loose. "She was always scared of her dad, she was always scared of her brother," the Toronto Star quoted a classmate as saying. Others were quoted as saying the girl wore traditional Muslim dress when leaving the house in the morning, but would change into other clothes in school washrooms. Dawson said investigators will likely speak to the victim's schoolmates. The father will return for a bail hearing on Wednesday. reuters.com

Since this was an ongoing dispute and he choked her to death, he should be tried for 1st degree murder, and spend the rest of his miserable life in prison.

Ok..So now the do gooders come to his rescue..and how many millions of our tax dollars are likely to be spent on defending this moronic cultural misfit...and we can be sure some sleaze bag lawyer will come forward to grab whatever money is put up to defend this fool.... Freedom of religion is gonna be tested...is it OK to murder in the name of religion/cult? And in my opinion the people who share the blame for the murder of this child are the liberal minded government people who keep bringing these uncivilized things into the country. I mean how hard is it to ask these people if they will live by our laws and customs if they come to Canada and make them sign documents that they agree to abide by our laws...just stop the crazies before they get here...gees we got some stupid people in government...we got some stupid voters as well.
