Obama would surely get more than 45% of the vote if he were the Democratic nominee. I don't know if he could get 50.1%, but he would get more than any Republican at this point in time... Despite all the "empty suit" talk, he wears pretty well for such an empty suit. He has made mistakes, but he had admirers on the left and on the right. andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com
