Um, yes it is. This is an occupier versus occupied struggle.....religion or insurmountable cultural differences are a subplot not unlike a certain struggle in the ME. See your statement above where you agree its not only a religious struggle.


So the Greeks are still fighting the Turks for Asia Minor, are they? Guess not. What happened to the "usual" outcome? BTW, I can also point out long periods when the Zionists and the Palestinian Arabs lived at peace too. You can point out these periods of peace in Balkans, and in every single ethnic conflict. They don't prove anything.

You're as bad as ed. For him, every conflict is Vietnam. For you, every conflict is Ireland, and Ireland is brave saga of occupied freedom fighters fighting England, which is your national narrative. Every conflict is seen through this lens, and trimmed to fit. Much easier to disparage other people's national narratives than your own.
