I may join you in GLD, but I'm afraid my gut believes in the "it's all one trade" scenario. Liquidity is everywhere, and everything is hypercorrelated right now like no time before. Liquidity destruction - as is occurring right now in the debt markets and the crumbling bank and IB balance sheets - will most likely take everything down in highly correlated fashion as well. Haven't seen the term MCHVE lately, but it may be time to resurrect it. (Multi-Commodity Hyper-correlated Volatility Event, right?)
