The media mainly also has a vested interest in pumping up candidates then watching them fall. They like face-offs. They like drama. They get sick of leading men and women and look for new stories and new faces. They look for ratings. They pumped up Dean then ran the clip of his whooping a thousand times to seal his doom. They can and do influence.

But the media doesn't vote. Those Iowa caucus goers know they can decide who the next president is and they take victory very seriously. When they see that poll that came out yesterday showing Hillary the weakest of the top three against the GOP, they can and do change their minds. They also know in private at least that nominating a woman or black might play into GOP hands, as the GOP are experts at attacking feminism and minorities. Notice every single GOP candidate is a white man. That is not by accident. They are a patriarchal group and often pick actor types to cast in that role.

Also remember that in Iowa your second choice counts for a lot. Therefore, Obama voters who don't go for Hillary will pick Edwards as a second choice. Since I am predicting Hillary will lose in Iowa, it's between Obama and Edwards, and Obama has one big disadvantage in Iowa, it's about 95% white. So even if they're liberal they're from a different tribe. Plus everyone there loves Edwards. He has spent more time there than anyone and has visited every nook and cranny of the state. He's someone they can really feel comfortable with. See what I mean?

Still, I beieve Obama will be president if he isn't assassinated, but in 2016, not 2008.
