Gitmo is a national disgrace. It's a model for fascist concentration camps Bushies dream about sending anyone who dissents from their far rightwing one party military dictatorship fantasy. Anyone who thinks Gitmo has helped us one iota is a moron and hasn't read the Constitution. It is a symbol that America has lost its moral compass. If you want to punish terrorists, just kill them. That works a lot better than denying them all rights and pretending the Geneva Convention and the US Constitution don't exist. If it's a war, they are prisoners of war. So they're either killed or given Geneva Convention rights. End of story. Anything less is uncivilized and right out of the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany. By the way, what if some far left fanatic were somehow elected president and decided to use the gitmo camp to imprison you for being a rightwing fascist after the next Timothy McVeigh attacks our homeland. How would you feel to not be allowed a lawyer and not even know what you're accused of? Just ebcause you wrotye an email supporting the new McVeigh. That's fascism not America. So I guess you'd like it. And I guess you'd deserve it for not respect our sacred Constitution, which by ther way also includes a clear separation of church and state.
