<<Is bigotry and hatred genetic or is it a passed down trait ?>>

I would have to think its entirely due to nurturing and the environment one grows up in. No one is born full of hatred and intolerance.

<<The killing in your homeland through the years/decades was perpetuated how ?>>

The struggle was a fight for independence from British rule first and foremost. As I told Nadine yesterday, the Catholic v Protestant view is entirely a subplot to the real reason for the conflict. Just so happens that the religious differences of both sides coincide with each sides loyalties.....Catholics for a united Ireland and Protestants for British rule.

When the violence really started in earnest in '69 it escalated into an all out war very quickly. It was a pressure cooker type situation. The IRA support from the nationalist side exploded (pardon the pun). Not only from within Ulster itself but a massive surge of support grew from the Republic (26 counties under independent Irish rule). The loyalist side then formed their own paramilitary groups (UVF, UDA being the largest) as they believed the British army was not doing enough to thwart the revolution (as they saw it).

With all these ingredients in place plus throw in a bunch of hatred, a dollop of intolerance and a big bowl of unbelieveably complex and distorted history......you got about 25 years worth of a big mess. It all comes down to a struggle for maintaining power (loyalists) versus independence from the crown and a united Ireland (nationalists).

<<They stole my land so I will raise generation after generation all programed to hate until I get my land and respect back... at any cost. Is that what happened in Ireland as well ?>>

That's exactly how it developed. In the case of Northern Ireland the real violence didn't erupt until the late 60s....lets say there was a lot of pent up pressure to be released at that point.

<<The Islamo facists are using religion as the tool for their death cult... How can you compare that with sticks and stones ?>>

I'm sorry...I don't understand what you're getting at here?
