I don't think it's too much for me to demand that we stick to the ideal of limited government.

How come former Eastern bloc nations are adopting flat taxes? I'd be fine with that, even if it means giving up my home mortgage interest rate deduction.

I just find it rich that a guy with a country club membership tells me that I'm ungrateful and that I want to pay no taxes. It's far from the truth, but hey, whatever it takes to Silence The Opposition (2nd rule of partisanship).

Depends on what you mean by historical tax rates. Until FDR the tax rates where lower, and they where lower under Reagan as well.

As for tax rates of other first world countries, well if they want to over tax themselves that isn't any reason for us to do so as well.
