This country has been divided since the Civil War, and what was that war about? And what is the #1 issue for Republicans this year, slamming Mexicans. They are the new blacks, but it doesn't mean there still isnt massive sometimes subconscious fear and descrimination. Now Obama is not a threatening type, but neither is Harold Ford. In fact they're very similar, They are not similar. Ford was not nearly as clean as Obama is nor as bright nor as polished. In fact, he was more political animal than anything else. and look at how the GOP dirty tricksters destroyed Harold ford with one single dishonest ad. And look how dirty they were with John Kerry, a white blue blood. The GOP ain't go to change their stripes for anyone so deal with it. All because of his race. That's all that it was about. A white woman and a black man, even though Ford had never even met that woman they showed. There was a time when you had to be Protestant to be president in this country. That's no longer true. Now its time that everyone and anyone can be president....white, black, brown, yellow; man or woman; and Christian, Muslim, Jew, Agnostic. The only way you make that happen is by doing it. All the above means is that there is a risk, that's all. And to ignore it is naive. That goes with nominating a lady too by the way. There is a risk in everything we do. Like Kerry, you are too politically correct and think like a politico. Thinking like that is what's got us in the current mess. I want someone different.......a politician outside the box.
