Let me try a different way.......present day China is closer to capitalism than the old Soviet Union was. Whether China is "closer to capitalism than any other economic system", is highly debatable. It still has a lot of government owned corporations, and heavy controls on many of the rest. It has less than full recognition of and respect of property rights, and a lot of restrictions on and interference with the market. In any case "closer to capitalism", does not equal "capitalism".
