Elizabeth Edwards Back on the Trail: dragging a dead body to campaign trail By Julie Bosman INDIANOLA, Iowa – Elizabeth Edwards has been absent from the campaign trail for almost a month, having last made an appearance around Nov. 18 in New Hampshire. Until yesterday, that is, when she flew to Des Moines with the Edwardses’ children, Jack and Emma Claire, in tow, and joined her husband, John, for a few days of campaigning on his “Main Street Express” bus tour. She made her first appearance at the Democratic debate in Des Moines, conducted a television interview with Norah O’Donnell of MSNBC and then, in full camera-ready makeup, climbed on the bus with the family.
