Progressives are VERY proud of their stances. Are you kidding? Never before have progressives been so vindicated, on every single issue. The term "liberal" is out-dated, partly because the rightwing has polluted it with false stereotypical smears. But in fact liberalism is a proud, positive and very pro-American movement. If you study the roots of liberalism you will find they were always right on the issues, going back to the time when they have to fight the robber barons for basic rights in this country. Liberals made this country great for all people. The rightwing only wants it to be frat for the top 1-2%. That is a FACT. Also, Bushie rightwingers have no right to call themselves "conservatives". These days progressives are much more prudent and conservation minded on all the big issues, from economics to energy to foreign policy.
