A hoax implies intent. <it's possible (but not likely) that GW will turn out to be greatest hoax ever seen. >

I don't think it's a hoax, though I'm sure there are plenty of people getting money who aren't very convinced, but stay with it for the cash flow, power, status and publicity.

It really does have a lot in common with religion. Religions aren't generally hoaxes, though I really do find it hard to believe that people can genuinely be so gullible. But when they fly aircraft into buildings, I have to assume they mean it.

Most people who believe the global warming ideas seem to have almost no idea about the mechanisms involved. They just believe. They think it has something to do with the ozone layer and lead in petrol or something.

I'm sure Al Gore really does think it's awful. Not awful enough to stop flying fat stomach around the world and live an ascetic life-style. He's a hog-wild glutton lecturing me from Bali and all over the world to stop using all those pixels in cyberspace and running a couple of hundred watts. So are all the Bali hypocrites. If we judge them by their actions rather than their words, they certainly don't seem worried about CO2 and hot air. You would think they could use a wiki to discuss things if they are that worried.
